I rescued a discarded circa-1990 Trek 800 Antelope frame a while back, and have been putting it back together with assorted parts in order to make an all-rounder/gravel/beater for the family. The only part I'm going to need to buy is a seat post, but I'm not sure of the size. I measured with digital calipers and got readings of 23+ mm, but it varied depending on where I measured. I can't find the official spec on the internet. Anybody know what size post this takes?
Have two in the shop I work at and both are 26.8, is it possible a PO put an undersize post in there and pinched the slot together. The slot should be about the same width from top to bottom.
