Surely you remeber how diesels have always ran.
Belching big clouds of smoke up until about 20 yrs ago.
When I wrenched I had a fleet of 90 school busses I maintained.
The old non EPA busses had better fuel economy, less problems, less expensive parts. Ect ect.
Over all less pollution as a total package than new diesels.

You do know that the so called regen process of new diesels is just dumping extra fuel on the exhaust stroke or sometimes downstream into the dpf itself. It's superheating the catalyst by injecting raw fuel into the exhaust. And then you squirt what's basically urine into it. (D.e.f. fluid)
The "green" movement has nothing to do with what's better for the planet. It's all about the money.
