Boure cycling shorts have a model called Pro Men's or Pro Womens that has a minimal chamois. It is a Microtex cloth against the skin with a very thing pad like thing under it. No more than 3mm thick. Been using them since 1998. Durable and comfy. Made in Colorado and Ned Overend has lent his name to them for marketing. I like their chamois for sweat management.
I do, however, miss the good ol' leather chamois which is what I started on. Always comfortable, even in the pouring rain.
