There may come a time when I decide to move to waterproof bags, but I haven't needed them over the multiple decades of commuting and touring (started touring in 1977, serious commuter in 1983). I imagine somehow I will survive if I don't go the waterproof route. Maybe when I get a newer car, if the Volvo wears out.
