Replace the MAFAC brake pads with KoolStops, for your own safety, plus aluminum rims, for everyone who hasn't ditched the steels. Otherwise, ride the hell out of it. My old UO-8, with SunTour barcons and rear derailleur and 2x6 half-step gearing and Sugino Mighty Cranks is surprising fun to ride. I can agree with almost all of this other. The delrin derailleurs aren't great particularly the FD and shifters but the rear derailleurs tend to be pretty decent. Simplex RDs are one of the better non-suntour RDs IMO but yeah trash the delrin FD and shifters. The metal Simplex derailleurs are quite good in any case.
