Though they prefer you put their stuff in it. I used Hammer's HEED, Endurolyte, gels and nutrition bars for years. https://hammernutrition.com/collections/fuels They work well.

But they are just convenience. One can make their own easily for much less. But it is something you have to want to do. If you don't, then don't. It's not a issue either way.
Ooooh I have some Paw Paw Jam I picked up I want to try that sometime. Maybe mix in some flavorless electrolyte powder that could be pretty tasty.

I have long considered the gel flask but would inevitably forget to clean it.
