It is a fabulous bike. All of the advertising nonsense on the Cannondale website is actually true, . The combination of touring geometry (42 inch wheelbase, 18 inch stays) and the stiffness of the overbuilt aluminum makes for a bike that rides more like a racing bike but with the handling of a touring bike. 32c tires help smooth out the ride.
Thank you. When you converted from 27" to 700c, did you keep the freewheel or modernized it to a current mechanism? I found a nice Weinmann Momentum SL 700c wheelset, Shimano freehub, 130/100 QR axle spacing online and would love to make it work. But it is probably not compatible with my original parts, so changes would have to me made, right?!Do adapters or a narrower freehub for this wheelset make a big difference for my 126mm dropout. 🤔
