How many of you have experienced this?

You have some kind of mechanical out on the road, and you or the group you are in just don't have the item or the tools that will get you going again - a tire destroyed, a chain broken and nobody has a chain breaker, etc.? And you or somebody looks at their phone and there's an LBS not so distant. Get the bike in, and THIS:

They stop what they are doing, fix your problem, and get you back on the road.

I've had this happen a bunch of times. And in several cases, they didn't even charge me labor.
We do that sort of stuff all the time, we had a customer who brought in bike he was commuting on that needed a ton of work and he was supporting his family and didn't have money and we had a bike we were going to fix up for the shop and we ended up giving it to him and now he is on his feet and working for us part time and kicking ass. I give away parts and labor all the time to help people out. I want people to ride safely and if you are good then we want to send that energy back. I have been in that situation where I have needed help so I try to be there for others when I can but if you put out bad energy then it changes things.
