Some of the "lead out train" thinking of the past may be blown out of the equation by having guys like MVDP on your team. One example - one man... I get that. There are others like Ganna, Mads, Wout... that could do the same (if MVDP wasn't in the race)

But when he is in the race - his power, his ability to handle the bike and move within the peloton, he alone can separate himself and his sprinter from just about anyone or any entire team. Changes the entire dynamic, especially when he is towing the fastest sprinter behind him. Do you want to form a train, do all the work, only to have MVDP and Jasper sitting on your wheels till the last 5-700k - only to have them blow your doors off...
