Me, I'd straighten the existing c-ring. It's a good size (and somewhat rare) plus original, which matters to some people. Those rings are made of soft malleable steel, so it'll probably bend back without snapping, but you'll only have 5 minutes invested at the point where it breaks or doesn't, so no harm in trying.

That would be easy for me, but I had a career in metal fabrication, and I've straightened lots of steel chainrings. I'll understand if that's a daunting prospect for you. Needs a decent bench vise as a minimum, and some stuff to pry with. Since it's a single ring, extreme straightness isn't needed, it can tolerate more wow than a ring with neighbors and a F.der. cage.
