Winter riding around here often requires studded tires or knobby tires both of which are going to have higher rolling resistance then add ice and snow to the mix and it becomes even more work to keep moving.. Rolling resistance isn't a priority when there is ice and snow on the roads and trails. The priority is traction and safety.
