I have a circa 1967 European market Champion du Monde in original paint. Nervex Pro lugs, Campy dropouts and fully painted forks and stays…no chrome whatsoever. Higher end bikes built for European market often lacked the chrome seen on US-market bikes. This bike is pre-bike boom and I would love to see a picture of the seat cluster. In the pre-boom era, Gitane used both a cut and crimped swagged seat stay finish that is different from the bike boom cut and squashed style, and on top of the line frames a sinuous leaf shaped cap not to be confused with the Carre-style willow leaf was used.
