I ride a 20" wheel folder 100% now. If touring (haven't yet on this bike), I could fold it nightly to put in the tent, but that is really a pain with this bike, pulling all the panniers and the hinge latches are pretty tight. But leaving it outside is rolling the dice.

30 years ago I did my own tour on a LWB recumbent with B.O.B. trailer. No way was that rig fitting in a tent. Wasn't stolen, but I was in all rural areas of reasonable economic prosperity.

Now? Bike theft is UP. In daylight I see disheveled people wheeling nice bikes with SPD pedals down the sidewalk walking in sneakers, you just know they just ripped the bike. This is a major city with large homeless population and large opioid problem. Police won't respond at all to a reported incident like that, or if so, after an hour or so.
