40-50 miles is the "long ride" sweet spot for me. Metrics are OK from time to time.

And it's not all about miles, its about time in the saddle. 3-3.5 hours and I'm happy.

I just don't want to do longer rides anymore. It has to be something special, like a trip out west or to the Alps, to get me wanting to do longer rides.

Some of it is about not wanting to be on the bike for that long, some of it is about the logistics. Much of it is about me being very choosy about what roads I will ride on and when I will ride on them. Organized rides typically put me on roads at times where I wouldn't usually ride. You are at the mercy of the route planners - and many of the rides were planned years ago before the traffic situations changed.
