Once again, thank you posting this blast from the past and especially for my latest Owen Mulholland fix.

I remember reading this issue BITD and especially devouring the TdF articles. I am reminded that this is where I came to believe that Thevenet rode a stock (if immaculately maintained) PY-10. I have to admit that I am somewhat skeptical that he didn't have someone custom build his frames (perhaps Bernard Carre, a name I never heard back then and only learned about from my fellow BF C&Vers).

As an aside, Wallace Clemens (author of the Windsor Pro review in this issue) lived in my home town, Livermore CA. His son, Minot, was a year or two behind me in school (I knew who he was, but I don't remember ever having any conversation with him whatsoever - we moved in different circles). Somewhere around the time of this issue, Wallace and Minot reviewed a Bob Jackson (Minot) and a Ron Cooper (Wallace), which appeared as a single article. I had a Bob Jackson and I now have a Ron Cooper, quite possibly the only Bicycling-reviewed bikes I have ever owned.
