No need to go higher than 3.5Nm initially. Then back it off and re-tighten to about 2/2.5Nm. At 3.5Nm you should be able to feel some resistance in the steering when bike is on a stand. At 2.5N/m that resistance should be negligible. Check for play after 1st decent ride and retorque as required.
Thanks so much for the reply and the link for the new cap. Do you happen to know where I can find the spacers as well?
