None of the bikes recommended so far are likely to impress an o.p. looking for something that is less sluggish than the 'old hybrid' that they are riding now. Come on. That Brooklyn thing looks like one step up from a Dutch Style Citybike. Speed demon? I don't think so. The suggestion by another of n+1 and the purchase of something like my 'Simply Red' (has rack eyelets!) for the longer weekend rides? Maybe? IDK. WTF.
