Basics: I'll be riding this longest trail in Wisconsin, starting in Weston, WI, (just east of Wausau, WI) and going 83 miles to Green Bay. I'll leave about 8 AM after breakfast at the hotel and head east on the trail toward Green Bay. The trend is downhill: Wausau is at 1207' elevation, Green Bay is 581'.
Weather: I'll cancel and reschedule if the forecast is bad. Right now, the weather in Wausau in the mornings is mid-30s (°F) with highs in the upper 40s, so this is for the adventurous and hardy folk. (my trip will start from a warm hotel with hot breakfast and finish with a comfortable drive home)
Pace: I'm good for about 11 mph on flat ground on this folding bike I'm taking. Maybe a bit faster, since this trends downhill? If others want to go faster, I can take a folding eBike that would make a 15 mph average doable.
Other: I'll be taking my folding bike onto the bus from Green Bay out to Wausau the night before and staying at Comfort Inn & Suites Weston - Wausau, then driving back to Kenosha from Green Bay on the evening after the ride. Since others may be coming from homes elsewhere, your plans may vary. The bus is an Amtrak connecting one, and they don't guarantee they'll take bikes; it's at the driver's discretion. However, a boxed bike or folder in a bag is considered luggage, so I'll be taking my folder as luggage.
