Bikes: too many sparkly Italians, some sweet Americans and a couple interesting Japanese

At 75 and some 72 years on bikes and mixing in 3 wheel recumbents the last 5 years due to osteoarthritis and our roads filling with more traffic I strongly recommend your consideration. Trikes are safer. They are more stable, no more head first falls with 2 wheels, with flags and lights they have greater visibility and they are hard to tip over. Best of all in my experience cars seem to give more room and are slower when passing a recumbent.
