My only thought for the OP is will a 28mm fit ?. Lots of places tfor it to hit the chainstays, rear brake, bottom of the fork, not to mention issues getting past a set of dual pivot brakes while inflated. Rim size would be the least of my concerns.
I think there's much less angst these days than there was 11 years ago when the question about rim width was first asked.
