Late to the party though, other'un got their's in first.
yes the rest of the world got a TR5 - essentially a TR4A with the fuel-injected 2.5/6 (~150 BHP) that ended up in the TR6. The US got the more feeble carbureted version in the equivalent TR250 (~105 BHP) and ultimately in the US TR6. The official line was that the injected engine fell afoul of US emissions regs - my sneaking suspicion was that, in the absence of a decent US service network to look after the rather finicky Lucas injection system, they didn't want to acquire a reputation for unreliability a la FIAT, so they opted for the more reliable, albeit less powerful, carbureted engine
