Here is another pic for the thread and is my Stumpy with mostly stock XT setup.
It does have a Sugino CCS III crank which I really like and see no reason to change to XT or XTR.
I mostly do road cycling and use this old HT when conditions are sloppy or I want to ride some dirt or nasty gravel.
