Reminds me of the time a mother and her 12-year-old son came in the shop with a Trek 800 MTB that she'd bought him the week before. She said that the bike was clearly defective because the fork had already bent forward.

By a weird coincidence, I had seen the kid riding with some friends of his on a nearby trail the previous weekend. There was a drop-off about 10 or 12 feet high that they were riding over.

So I said, "Didn't I see you doing jumps down that trail in Lake Roland?" He said, "Yeah! I got the most air out of anybody!"

Moral of the story for SDHawk: don't feel bad for missing out on the bike.
