As for trends, they come and pass me by briefly, and then disappear. I could care less.
Just by coincidence, I can be seen riding in a plaid coat when it's cold enough. I wear cut-off denim jeans when it's hot enough outside.
Usual dress is the early 60's kid stuff: white t-shirt and blue denim jeans, and what-ever shoes make sense for the day.
Trendy and hip, I'm definitely not. Old and out of touch and style- probably.
