That’s kind of the point. They are inexpensive which makes them worth the effort (for some). $700 for a capable gravel bike is a cost many people can afford.
2. Limit on the size of tires that can be fitted.
You seem to have been missing the point of the whole, long, tedious discussion above. See my pictures above. Those are 45mm tires with some room to spare.
