The “take the lane” and “roads are safer than bicycle paths” mentality bled over into the S&A forum, and what I remember is that he was often quoted or cited as good advice even if he didn’t post there himself.
Don't remember for sure, but I think the Vehicular Cycling sub-forum was split off from the main S&A forum because the main forum had come to be dominated by back-and-forth arguing between the pro- and anti-VC factions. There aren't all that many threads in VC, but a large proportion of them are many, many pages in length.
