Is that a Kenisis fork? I remember one of the alloy forks that had that crown, but I might well have the brand wrong.

And what an awesome story! I remember the Shaklee team... I could never figure out what "Shaklee" was. SoCal juniors racing was pretty tough in that '88 - '92 window. I was on Mt. Helix, down in San Diego... alien-snot green 1-color jerseys. And we had the AAF programs with the leftover '84 Olympic money. I had some amazing coaches back then, Danny Van Haute premier among them.

I spent two seasons as pack fill. Couple of top-10s in downtown crits, made a few repechages on the track... typical mediocre teenaged bike racer. I had a solid sprint, and I was good against the watch, but I'd get dropped on overpasses.
