Hello folks,
I've put a few hundred miles on this lovely 2003 Gilles Bethoud touring bike over the past couple months and enjoy it, but for the style of riding it demands I realize that I prefer older equipment - if I'm not going to be keeping up a brisk pace or pedaling hard at intervals, I don't need all the modern gearing. I'm also not into touring so I don't need all the bags, racks, dynamo and lights. The vital measurements are 63cm c-c along the seat tube and a 58.5cm c-c top tube, with 175mm crank arms, a 110mm stem, and 42cm c-c handlebars. Further details upon request, but the photos make things pretty obvious! The last photo below shows the rear rack and front pannier racks attached (the shopping cart rack on top is not included).
I would like to trade this bicycle for a nice English lightweight like a Hetchins or Jack Taylor with seat tube measurements between 24-25" (c-t) and a 22.5-23" top tube. Almost any model will be considered, but my statement above about not requiring a lot of racks and lights stands. Depending on the value of the trade offer, I'd be happy to accept offers that include cash to make up an agreed upon difference in value. I'd be happy to trade for just a frameset if it's special enough.
Cheers!
-Gregory
(p.s. photos below are from two different photoshoots. It currently has the Deda bar tape and silver Chorus levers as shown in the first photo.)
