The knee jerk silliness comes from the afficianadoes who respond "get a fixed gear" as an answer to every question and then get another similar type to defend the mantra. The fixed gear aficianadoes have replaced the 'bent gang with chanting mantra at every opportunity. The "bent brethern have given a rest to the persistant proselytization of their choice.
