I had one on a bike and took it off, then I was watching CyclingAbout on YouTube and Alee, the host, who has way more miles ridden than me says that they are great.

I like the crankset. And platform pedals seem appropriate for this bike.

I look at these hybrid bikes and think they make great cross country/gravel bikes. Do you like the suspension fork? Is it worth it's weight? I see you are in Colorado so you have some trails that that travel will help.
