Yes, DT Swiss is heavier, but the additional weight is non rotational mass (or technically only very slightly), so not a huge deal.

Not sure why jbend spokes are bad/undesirable, but cool- you dont want em.
The BTLOS hub is good quality, based on user reviews over the last 5 or so months(elsewhere on a quality cycling forum). They are sealed well and finished well.
