50-40-30 on my 1982 Holdsworth Mistral - excellent set of ratios for bikes with a freewheel starting at 13 teeth. I’d use smaller rings on bikes with cassette hubs and 11t high gears, but this setup works perfectly for me on this bike, that’s a 13-32 Winner Pro Ultra-6 on the back.




I rode across Canada in 1982 on this machine, my first 531 frame. Still a lovely ride.
