I like quality tools (Snap-On, Matco, etc.) but I no longer need those tools for most repairs I do now. I have found the Kobalt tools from Lowe's a good compromise in price and quality with a great warranty.
I'm 60 yrs old now and I still have my Craftsman 10 drawer top box I bought in 1984 at 18 yrs old. Still have a lot of tools from the large Craftsman mechanic set I got for X-mas in 1983. These are all made in USA. I've broken a few but most missing tools are from being loaned or lost.
