Yeah, I'm beginning to think that something internal is borked. So long as the braze-on ones can be screwed onto the band clamp for the clamp-on ones, I should be OK. The non-clamp ones are easy to find in the co-op bins.

Fortunately for me, I'm having a bunch of teeth pulled on Friday, so I won't be needing a big ring for a while...
