Reversing the cam would have (I dunno in reality, just an assumption we're all working on in this thread) allowed Shannon to use a regular (low-normal) front derailleur. Because when swapping the high-normal for a low-normal front derailleur, the derailleur would be moved by the automatic symmetric trim function in the opposite direction, an incorrect direction relative to the chain when shifting the rear derailleur. Does that make sense? I feel like I didn't explain it very well.
