Hi, I have a 2021 Kona Lava Dome hardtail MTB.
I may be a little OCD but here we go,
I tried installing a new rack which had many adjustments and I thought mounting would be breeze. I was unsuccessful because of two aspects of my frame's construction.
There are two cylindrical bosses with female thrds above the dropouts which I assumed were for the rack's two struts.
-The bosses aren't equidistant from the rear wheel centerline
-The flat faces of the bosses aren't in parralel planes
Net effect- one strut wont allow the rack to be centered over the wheel and when screwed against the boss, and rises at the wrong angle to meet the rack attachment point.
See two example photos of boss. Mounted rack shown below and bent one of the bottom silver colored aluminum backets (see photo).
Am I using the bosses wrong or are they intended for another purpose, or welded on inaccurately?
thank
