They actually used the bed of the tow truck for the bike??
My freewheel fell off 2 years ago just as I was starting a 5 mile ascent (which I was going to walk anyway). I've been told by 2 experienced mechanics that it's mot possible! So, I'm glad you've proved them wrong!

I no longer use bike shops. If I need a repair done I'm unable to do, and I'm in a small town, I ask around for someone who knows bike mechanics and/or put an ad up on CL or now, FB. In small towns, somebody always knows bikes!
