The road to H**L, good on ya for trying to do a good thing.
I honestly would be put off a little bit by his curtness, seems a little stringent and not easy.
I realize full well he knows what he's doing but for my dollar and so many of them I expect proper engagement on any detail that may go awry and maybe need to be changed or wrangled in some way but if its a change I want to fully understand it and either sign off or agree on it.
I may not know enough to truly challenge something and I also know he doesn't want to have to educate anybody on rudimentary process but custom frames are extreme "custom"(er) service if not for the $$$$$$$ alone so I would expect more of it from anyone I signed on with for this.
I also know custom frames are notoriously challenging with many customers, lots of horror stories of "I want it done my way" when they don't have a clue and won't listen to the builder.
All part of the fun and yes, not fun for the builder but comes with the territory.
I don't think there are many professions like this that take so many hats, builder, financial consultant, marriage councilor, exterior designer, art consultant, on and on. Pretty sure many start doing it and find out the non bike side is too much trouble to bother with and who could blame them.
