+1 this. While modern production Shimano freewheels don't seem to be mechanically as nice as the old Dura-Ace and 600 Uniglide freewheels, the Hyperglide sprockets shift beautifully with both friction and indexed set-ups. And freewheels are a consumable item, and these don't cost much to replace when they wear out.
