Hi everyone,

I’m Erik from the Netherlands. I’m not a hardcore cyclist, but I really enjoy using my bike for everyday things like local commuting and errands, and taking it along on holidays. When traveling with our caravan, I usually bring the bike on the roof of my RAV4 prime and prefer relaxed rides — for example on old railway lines that have been converted into bike paths.

I recently bought a Koga F3 5.0 (2023) after my previous bike’s Alfine 8 hub failed due to corrosion. I switched to a 3×10 Shimano Deore LX drivetrain and am enjoying the simplicity so far.

I’m recently retired after a long career in IT and IT security. Besides cycling, I’m also into astrophotography. I joined BikeForums to learn more about comfort and maintenance topics like saddles, suspension seatposts and drivetrain care.
