A valid point, however there are many valid points against suspension on bicycles as well:
- It adds weight
- It adds cost
- It often absorbs pedaling energy
It's a value decision that will be made by each would-be customer.
In this case, I looked at all the factors and decided against suspending the bike. My bikes seem to take the hits just fine. I did lose a tail light on my eFatty due to an inadequate mount. The shocks also do cause my headlight to rotate up or down from my aim point at times, but by an large, it's not a big enough issue for me to spend the extra money and cope with the extra weight. Most of the gravel I ride is pretty smooth.
I don't rule it out in the future. I like the direction they're going, by keeping it short-throw and as light as possible on gravel bikes.
