may sound a bit silly

Hey all.
I have a new setup on my winter fixed gear.
I have a bit of a fixed townie.
I'm totally new to the upright seating at least as an adult.
The problem is that my rain jacket tail catches quite firmly under the tail of my saddle often when dismounting.
This has nearly taken me down a few times.
The saddle is a Berthoud Aspin.
The rain jacket is quite large because I fall between sizes.
I rather like the extra size to enable a lot of bulky layering during winter, but this means a long tail.
Just wondering if some townie riders here have run into this problem.
If so, how did you deal with it?
I'm trying to avoid asking my wife to shoot pictures and video, but that might help.
Anyway, thanks in advance for your suggestions.
