Executive summary: I came very close to expiring after mysteriously coming down with sepsis, suffered a brain bleed and three minor strokes, and had to have massive heart surgery. A month in the hospital and two months in a rehab facility. The majority of that time was spent unable to walk, and I was fed through a tube inserted into my abdomen.

Rode a grand total of 34 miles that year.
