A few shots from today's 20 mile ride, when it was just above 0 °F, before accounting for wind. I decided if I was going to live in Wisconsin, I was going to embrace it.
I rode the first 15 miles un-powered, which was a real challenge on this 80 lb. bike. Much of that was with the tires set to 5 psi. That'll keep ya warm! I recall my average pace was around 7.5 mph.
Dressed for the cold. Thick fleece under riding jacket, fleece balaclava, and ski helmet & goggles replace cycling ones. Note the chest vents are open though.
The CST Toboggan tires didn't load up
This beach is not really rideable in the warmer months, but with the sand frozen, it was a nice alternate to the park's trails with 3-4" of snow down.
I will admit the fenders loaded with snow and added some extra challenge.
"Life will find a way." (remember that movie line?)
This was 1st gear territory for me
Plowed but not salted road is OK with studded tires. The tires cleared quickly, once off the trails.
A trail through the woods.
