Currently, I just did mountain ride #15 on my chain since submerging in hot wax. (Fall/winter conditions with far less dust, so I concede that factor.) And this is after deciding to not even TOUCH my drive train between rides or waxings. And since switching to wax in June 2024, I have had no measurable wear since then. Plus, I switched with a chain at 1/32" stretch in 12", or 50% through it's life-span. At 50%, chains wear FASTER than new chains. So this performance to me is mind-blowing.

Again, why oh why did I wait DECADES to switch to immersion wax????

Longer-lasting, higher durability, pristine chain, cogs & rings, low to NO toxicity and saying goodbye to black gunk forever is revelatory. And on road? Even longer time between waxing. Win-win-win-win-win.
What you are experiencing is the cleanliness of wax. I abandoned oil chain lubricants many, many years ago. I also abandoned hot wax many years before that. For more than 30 years, I’ve been using solvent wax which provides all the benefits of hot wax…cleanliness…without the hassles of chain removal…which is the reason that I quit hot wax so many years ago.

White Lightning Clean Ride has always said that it needs to be reapplied after about 100 miles. I’ve never thought that interval was needed but never had the data to demonstrate it. I’ve been tracking a chain for a while now and am getting close to 400 miles average with one interval (current one) is going to more that 600 miles now.
