There is some individuality, yes. But not as much one might suspect. I think you would need to look for very special cases of people who don't do well on the
Mediterranean diet. And even those people only need to modify their diet, not avoid it.
For example, chronic kidney disease (avoid certain foods), Crohn's disease (reduce fiber), food allergic (duh), highly active athletes (more carbs, more protein).
