What I prefer on the bar's on my bike are the flattened sections along the straight part of the bar...
Designs evolve...The flatter tops are more comfortable to me... Similar to what's on my other bikes...

I do understand the "stolen" designs issue...
I pioneered a hollow wood surfboard method in 2002...
I've watched from the sidelines the replication of my designs since then...
Was I upset, no... It happens, and there is little you do about that unless you have a patent (not cheap) and deep pockets for attorneys (not cheap) to aggressively go after the infringers...
Everything has a window of originality and its inevitable that less than creative people copy the pioneers...
I decided to not be a board builder, in the sense that it was my only job...
I took my show on the road internationally and taught wood board building workshops around the world...There's good money in that and zero competition...
I could see doing something similar, traveling and teaching bike building workshops.. Wooden bikes with few design compromises... It can be done...
