If it were me I would see an orthopedic foot specialist (M.D.) that is board certified. I would mess around with a podiatrist. I had unrelated foot surgery by an MD with zero regrets, except recovery was definitely longer than 6-8 weeds (no complications). It was more like 6 to 8 months - which is typical according to my daughter in law who is a surgeon (not feet).
