FWIW, I rarely actually wash our bikes. A thorough rinse if we've carried them through miles and miles of dusty roads, or if they get extremely muddy from the rare times we ride in wet.
I either use plain water and a brush or if I use soap, I use some of the jug of some sort of Maguires car wash product I got at O'Reilly's to wash the camper.... 0r dawn dish soap in water... or if I'm just spot cleaning it, general spray cleaner and a rag (the most common type of cleaning I do - rarely do anything more than this.
While soap and water works, Dawn Power Wash does work better. There’s no need for scrubbing. I regularly use it at my local co-op for that stubborn oily gunk around hubs and frames. We have regular Dawn but I find you need to scrub with a brush and usually use several applications of soap to get that kind of stuff off
