Are such encounters unusual in your area? Bloody things are everywhere here. We have a very large year-round population; they no longer migrate. Thousands of 'em. Mating has been accomplished; nesting is commencing. One of the exits from my building (work) is now under its annual closure order. Mr. and Mrs. Goose have their nest under a tree immediately outside the door. Woe unto anyone who dares to come within 12 feet or so of them.
